Richard Gault began his PhD at the Intelligent Systems Research Centre, University of Ulster, Magee in October 2013. Previously he had studied at Queen's University of Belfast between 2009-2013 where he obtained his MSci in Mathematics and Computer Science with first class honours. Graduating in summer 2013, Richard received the Kainos Software Engineering Award by obtaining the highest overall average (82%) of students from the MEng/BEng in Computer Science and MSci/BSc in Computer Science with Mathematics or Physics. He also received the Fidessa prize for achieving the highest mark in the MEng/MSci module "Algorithms: Analysis and Application".
Richard's current research interests lie within Functional Brain Mapping. In particular, the evaluation of factors impacting tinnitus perception using MEG.
