Prize for ISRC Ph.D Student
Yogesh Kumar Meena, a 2nd year PhD student in the Intelligent Systems Research Centre at Ulster University, has participated in the international summer school of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, held in Pavia, Italy, from 30th August to 6th September, 2015. The theme of the summer school was “Advanced Biomedical Signal Processing: Signal processing and modeling in neuroengineering: Enabling technologies for rehabilitation”. About 57 participants from academia and industry were shortlisted to attend the IEEE-EMBS summer school from 20 countries. Yogesh was subsequently awarded a Third Place in the competition for the Best Research Poster presentation. The title of his research poster was “Simultaneous gaze and motor imagery hybrid BCI increases single-trial detection performance: A compatible-incompatible study”. The award was sponsored by the IEEE Italy section. A day after the summer school, Yogesh was invited to present a research talk on hybrid brain-computer Interface for rehabilitation and visited the Neuroengineering and Medical Robotics Laboratory - NearLab at the Department of Bioengineering, Politecnico di Milano, Italy. During the invited visit, he discussed his current research projects in view of possible future collaborations.
Congratulation to Yogesh for his excellent work!
